Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
Apply security measures and hardening to computing systems.
Installing, hardening and patching Linux/Windows operating systems.
Implement recovery procedures to include backup and potential restoration.
Maintain the plan of action and milestones (POA&M) for cybersecurity vulnerabilities; create and maintain installation, maintenance, and upgrade procedures.
Perform security content automation protocol (SCAP) test, perform checks to verify compliance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide.
Conduct systems security audits against requirements with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).
Interact with users and evaluate vendor products.
Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation and provide backup recovery procedures.
Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
The Systems Administrator may also set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance and install system wide software.
The successful candidate will be strong in Linux/Unix administration and will preferably have experience with Windows Administration.
Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software configuration management release process
Perform configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented
Work with containerization technologies such as Docker and provide container orchestration and management.
