Manufacturing Plant Facility Design Engineer

Description:
*This is a 1 year, full time, contract position located in Kingsport, TN*



We are seeking a PLC/Controls or Manufacturing Plant Design Engineer who will be assisting us in designing a chemical manufacturing plant. Part of this work will involve analyzing existing plant infrastructure and recommend upgrade plans and strategies.



Candidate will be responsible for electrical and control systems design and design review for transformers, motor control centers, lighting, bonding and grounding, lightning protection, instrumentation, networks, fire alarm systems, PLC control panels, and schematic wiring drawings



Duties will consist of interfacing with designer/drafters, help develop instrument and electrical equipment specification including sizing and analysis of medium/low voltage equipment and wiring, abet with PHA/HAZOP studies, Level of Protection Analysis (LOPA), National Electrical Code, and Safety Instrumented Systems including HAZMAT for flammable vapors.



Required:
*10 years’ experience in electro-mechanical design of manufacturing plants, particularly petrochemical or similar chemical plants
*Experience developing instrument and valve specifications
*Background in design of PLC based control systems
*Familiar with hazardous environment National Electrical Codes and related Safety Systems Design, MSDSs
*Engineering Degree, BSEE preferred



Pluses:

*Strong AutoCAD Plant 3D or P&ID experience

*PE license
