System Integration Engineer

Description:
General Summary:
The Systems Integration Engineer supports the design, analysis, and development, of advanced integration facilities, and application in the testing, development and certification of highly integrated complex systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Design, build, and daily support and maintenance operation of advanced hardware-in-the­loop(HIL) integration test facilities, for the development of integrated complex aircraft systems.
2. Development, modification and validation of aircraft simulation models.
3. Supports Systems integration, safety of flight (SOF) testing, and verification testing and automation of these tests as required.
4. Provide testing support along with automation and customization for facility users as needed.
5. Resolves problems from development and testing activities.
6. Maintains and upgrades the facility to match the testing needs and troubleshoots and resolves issues.
7. Communicates with the systems design teams & systems suppliers on technical issues as required.

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
1. Bachelors' degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Physics, Software engineering or other related field required at a minimum.
2. Previous experience including internships and co-ops in the area of automated testing, embedded systems, including coding, requirements-based test development, design, and integration.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Strong computer, analytical and problem solving skills.
2. Working knowledge with MATLAB/Simulink®, good Python/C coding skills, familiarity with digital/analog electrical systems.
3. Experience with dSpace Control/AutomationDesk or other test automation environment desired.
4. Familiarity with basic lab testing equipment such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes.
5. Experience with data busses including RS-232, RS-485, ARINC-429, and Ethernet desired.
6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, etc.).
7. Familiarity with SW version control and problem tracking tools (PVCS/GIT/JIRA) is desired.
8. Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of an organization.
9. Ability to work independently and within a team oriented environment.
