Electrical Systems Engineer

Description:
The Electrical Systems Engineer provides expertise in support of electrical/electronic systems through all phases of a project, including research, preliminary design, detailed design, development, certification, production, and product support.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design, development and certification support of the aircraft Electrical Power System, including power generation, advanced power distribution, and battery technology.
• Technology focal for motor / motor controllers
• Perform trade studies to determine optimal engineering solution
• Development and validation of requirements
• Design, plan and support of integration tests for laboratory and aircraft testing
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting, root cause analysis and corrective action
• Preparation and presentation of technical data in design reviews
• Review and approval of Qualification Test Plans, Procedures and Reports

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
• BS in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Master’s degree preferred
• 5 or more years of aviation experience involving research, design, development and certification of electrical/electronic systems

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of aircraft electrical power systems
• Knowledge of system modeling and analysis tools
• Knowledge of motor / motor controller theory and application
• Knowledge of FAR Part 23 or 25 regulations preferred
• Knowledge of RTCA/DO-160, RTCA/DO-178 and RTCA/DO-254 processes preferred
