Tool Designer 4

Description:
Leads the development of highly complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements. Leads design reviews, design requirement collection, drawing creation and revision. Researches the application of robotics, automation and new technology to support the build plan. Creates off-load packages, specifications, purchase requests and usage instructions for equipment and tooling. Checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements. Establishes and validates spares requirements. Leads the implementation of best practices into functional process documentation to drive standard work. Oversees the development and documentation of equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and user training. Provides technical direction to support engineering changes and discrepancy resolution. Oversees the maintenance of hardware and software configuration. Assesses and makes recommendations for disposition of equipment and tooling.

Day to Day:
• Describe the project/day-to-day activities they will be working on:
• Investigates and develops basic to moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements.
• Participates in design reviews, collects design requirements, creates and revises drawings and models to support the build plan.
• Creates specifications, purchase requests and usage instructions for equipment and tooling.
• Self-checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
• Develops and documents equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and supports user training development.
• Researches designs to create and revise usage instructions. Provides technical support for engineering changes and discrepancies by investigating problems, and analyzing data to identify solutions.
• Maintains hardware and software configuration. Supports the disposition of equipment and tooling.
Top Must Haves:
1. CATIA/Solidworks/ other CAD modeling software

4. Working to industry standards
5. Hardware configuration management

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.
