Job Description
The Fleet Support Engineer / Service Engineer (SE) will work directly with airline customers to address and resolve in-service airplane system issues related to Electrical Systems and Subsystems, Air Data Inertial Reference Systems, Flight Management Systems, Navigation and Communication Systems, and Flight Controls Systems, through our Company Communication System (BCS). Job priorities will include monitoring potential in-service risks and issues, and managing appropriate mitigation plans to assure a successful entry into service. Activities include verification of all related Customer Support products, including Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) and Fault Isolation Manual (FIM), as well as development and update of Fleet Team Digest (FTD) articles, Service Letters (SL) and Maintenance Tips (MT). Additionally, the SE will process Suspect Discrepancy Reports (SDRs), which communicate manufacturing issues that originate from the factory and have escaped to the in-service fleet, by coordinating with value stream stakeholders to determine technical resolution and recommend corrective action to the fleet.
The SE, will be working on resolving operator issue real-time, including general systems questions, short to medium term Electrical System problem resolution, long term issue description and proactive fleet guidance, including working with operators to recover Airplane on Ground (AOG) situations. This can involve coordination over the phone to troubleshoot an airplane halfway around the world, to being on on-site with the operator to return a grounded airplane back to revenue service, all while utilizing the latest tools, technology, data analytics, and real time fleet monitoring data
The SE role requires application of engineering principles to research technical, operational and quality issues reported by airline customers, as well as determining interim and final engineering solutions, and responding to airline questions and reported problems through internal and external communication. The SE will be able to assess event reports for potential safety issues, troubleshoot airplane problems using airline provided information, on-line engineering data, partner and supplier data, maintenance publications, and MyFleet. The SE will also be able to develop and manage projects to resolve in-service issues, develop presentation materials and present information on in-service issues to various review boards, management meetings, and airline forums, as well as participate in support teams and Technical onsite assistance at airline location.
The SE will be an integral part of supporting all Company Commercial Airplane models in-service and development, including programs such as 747, 767, 777, 787, 737NG, 737MAX, 777X, and the next generation of commercial airplanes.

ADIRS - Air Data Inertial Reference Systems (737)
o Experience with Autoflight/Autothrottle / Flight Management / Air Data & Inertial Reference Systems. The ideal candidate will have specific knowledge of Air Data & Inertial Reference System: Air Data Systems, IRS/Earth Reference Systems (ERS), Pitot-Static System, Other Sensors (including Anti-Ice Systems). Experience with reading and analyzing wire diagrams / wire schematics.

Flight Management Systems (737)
o Experience with Autoflight/Autothrottle / Flight Management / Air Data & Inertial Reference Systems. The dieal candidate will have specific knowledge of light Management System: CPDCL/Datalink (Controller Pilot Data Link Communications), Navigation, Guidance, Performance, Flight Planning, Thrust Management. Experience with reading and analyzing wire diagrams / wire schematics.
Quantity 2
WxR - Weather Radar, SATCOM, Antennas, and HF/VHF Radios (All Models)
o Experience with Communication, Navigation and Surveillance Systems. The ideal candidate will have specific knowledge of CommNav Radios, Air Traffic Control System, Traffic Collision Avoidance System, Satellite Communication, Passenger Address, GPS, Weather Data, and the Integrated Surveillance System. Experience with reading and analyzing wire diagrams / wire schematics.

Proximity Sensing Systems
o Experience with reading and analyzing wire diagrams / wire schematics. Ideal candidate would have experience with electrical subsystems or sensor systems, particularly proximity sensing systems; landing gear position indication, passenger and cargo door warning, weight-on-wheels determination and various flight control surface position indication. Overall sensor component knowledge would be useful as well.

737NG Power Systems
o The ideal candidate will have experience with power generation, distribution and control systems. Otherwise any experience with other electrical subsystems would be a plus. Experience with reading and analyzing wire diagrams / wire schematics. Understanding of electrical wire installation and equipment installation a plus.

Electrical Lighting/Wiring (737/767/787)
o Knowledge of Exterior/Interior/Emergency lighting systems. Should have 3+ years' experience with BCA Wire Installation Design statement of work and a working knowledge of Wire Design and Equipment installation practices. Electrical Wiring Interface System
