Description:
Chipton-Ross is seeking 2 Software Engineer 3's for a contract opportunity in Colorado Springs, CO.

*This position is 100% ONSITE.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is for a Mid- Level Software Engineer on the C2BMC JEMINI program. The candidate will primarily be responsible for software development using Java.
A successful candidate should be able to:
o Interact with other people using good verbal and written communication skills
o Work independently or with a small group
o Be flexible in a highly dynamic and ever-changing environment
o Provide in-depth analysis and technical support of a large, distributed system written in Java
o Perform complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, integration, and user-support for a large code baseline
o Follow specifications in order to develop or modify functionality within the code
o Assist with design, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation
o Interface with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards and improve overall efficiency of the system
o Design, code, test and implement tools for automation

Program Information:
The C2BMC National Team provides technical solutions to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Contract. C2BMC is the integrating element for the Ballistic Missile Defense System and links various sensors and weapon systems. The system provides capabilities to integrate and synchronize missile defense systems and operations, providing a layered defense against multiple ranges of threats and in all phases of flight.

HARD REQUIREMENTS:
- Java experience.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a rapid paced, team environment.
- Knowledge of software practices and coding standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root cause, recommend and develop a solution.

Background Experience
- Command and control system application development.
- Previous experience with message translation software.
- Automated test and pipeline development experience.
- Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms.
- Experience with Software Integration testing including developing automated test scripts.
- Experience with Risk Management Framework/STIG/Fortify mitigation.
- Prior experience designing and developing microservices and deploying with containers; experience setting up a container environment.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working as part of an Agile team.
- Familiarity with Java Spring.
- Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker/Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of server side development and message passing.
- Experience developing enterprise applications.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office products.
- Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking.
- Use of common software development and management tools such as git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven or Gradle and Eclipse.
- Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and UML diagrams.

EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience (e.g., PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT 4x10
WORK HOURS: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
