Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Startup Engineer II to join our team in Richland, WA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in startup and commissioning processes, with a strong background in instrumentation and controls (I&C) systems. This role involves developing and evaluating plans, interpreting regulations, providing technical advice, and performing field consulting services. The successful candidate will also participate in project planning, prepare progress reports, complete testing, and provide input on design revisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for a variety of project activities within a discipline or specialty.
Interpret new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data related to the specialty.
Provide technical advice and counsel on specific assignments.
Participate in special technical educational and training programs as directed.
Perform field consulting services as required.
Apply specialized knowledge of startup methods to solve specific problems.
Resolve technical questions in the area of specialty.
Use advanced startup engineering techniques and modify theories, precepts, and practices of related sciences and disciplines.
Perform instrumentation and electrical loop checks and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
Coordinate the DCS/I&C commissioning team activities with project goals during project planning meetings.
Schedule work tasks and labor for DCS/I&C commissioning.
Prepare progress reports for project management review, detailing work-off items, loop check count completion, logic check progress, and upcoming activities.
Complete testing per company standards and project-specific procedures.
Document testing activities fully, including test records and data sheets.
Support commissioning activities via I&C controls, including system and component testing.
Provide input to engineering on revisions to drawings, databases, and vendor manuals based on preoperational test procedures and commissioning execution.
Prepare design change and non-conformance documents to document as-built conditions or resolve deficiencies.
Implement design changes issued by the engineering group and create engineering design changes in response to system problems.
Prepare system testing and turnover documentation, including test records and procedures.
Participate in system turnover/handover walkdowns and manage punch-list items.
Attend system walk-downs with the customer to demonstrate I&C system operation and compliance with contract requirements.
Prepare system turnover packages by assembling and reviewing all system test documentation.
Interact closely and frequently with management, operations, and maintenance personnel while maintaining commercial awareness.
Use Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and company standard applications (Inspec, SetRoute, Teamworks, E-Track, and Infoworks) in work assignments.
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university plus 9 years of related experience.
In lieu of a formal degree, a high school diploma plus 15 years of related experience is required.
Six years of experience in a related industry, with at least four years in commissioning and startup, and at least two years as an I&C Commissioning/Startup Engineer.
Previous commercial nuclear/Department of Energy experience or similar is preferred but not required.
Skills and Competencies:

Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with management, operations, and maintenance personnel.
Advanced understanding of startup engineering techniques and related sciences.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and company standard applications.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to resolve technical questions.
