Structural Test Engineer I - IT Specialist

Description:
Inconen is looking for a Structural Test Engineer I - IT Specialist for our client, a well-known Aerospace Company, in Savannah, GA.

**Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident**

Unique Skills:
1. The Structural Test team is responsible for executing tests in support of company and certification requirements for current and future company products.
2. Structural Test includes testing in support of aircraft structures, powerplant, electrical systems, mechanical systems, flight deck, and flight controls.
3. Testing could include static and fatigue structural, flammability, or experimental.

Roles / Responsibilities
1. Maintain/Update test equipment (computers Servers, Desktops and laptops).
2. Perform activities in support of static, fatigue, flammability, full-scale aircraft, component level, and coupon testing.
3. Perform highly complex duties in the design, development, installation, upgrade, monitoring, and maintenance of the wired and wireless network infrastructure.
4. Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
5. Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
6. Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
7. Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.
8. Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
9. Maintain/ inventory all active test equipment available in Structural Test through software/hardware lifecycle.
10. Develop and maintain a SharePoint database website.

Required Skills:
1. Highly motivated self-starter
2. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
3. Willing to think outside the box to develop unique solutions to challenges.
4. Excellent with multitasking and able to quickly shift priorities.
5. Familiar with MS Office software
6. Experience with Computer Hardware Maintenance.

Desired Skills:
1. Understand, operate, and maintain Computer Hardware (Servers, Desktops and Laptops)
2. Understand, operate, and maintain time synchronized Computer Networking (PTP/NTP/STP)
3. Familiarity with Cisco Network Assistant Software
4. Understand, configure and manage Virtual Local Area Network
5. Understand, operate Large Data Backup System
6. Familiarity with software coding (MS Visual Basic, NI LabView, Phyton, PLC Codes (LD, SFC, FDB, ST or IL)
7. Experience with MS SharePoint Software

Education and Experience Requirements:
1. Bachelor's Degree Engineering or related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
2. 18 months of related experience required.

Position Purpose:
1. Performs engineering work related to the investigation and solution of basic problems associated with research, design, development, service and manufacture of Gulfstream aircraft.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
1. Provides technical assistance to engineering staff and contributes by completing discrete engineering tasks on schedule.
2. Using company procedures, applies engineering knowledge to resolve routine issues.
3. Analyzes and evaluates results of project activities.
4. Prepares recommendations for changes and compiles necessary reports for various department supervision.
5. Recognizes discrepancies and/or problems with analysis/test results and works toward corrective action.

Additional Functions:
1. Actively works to improve daily processes, and ensures all work meets customer requirements.
2. Continues learning and developing knowledge of application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in assigned field of expertise.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.

1. The level of technical skills and abilities appropriate for this grade level will be established by each discipline.
2. Work is closely supervised/monitored, follows established procedures and methods.
3. Failure to achieve results may cause delays in program schedules.
4. Ability to convey technical concepts in both written and verbal formats.
5. Contacts are primarily with direct supervisor, mentor, and other exempt professionals in the group or department.
6. Works under general supervision for most tasks.
