Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Level Systems Engineer to lead the integration of our Flight Efficiency offerings, including FliteDeck Advisor, Wind Updates and RouteSync offerings. In this position, you will harmonize efforts across multiple applications in the flight efficiency and sustainability space, contributing to products advancing the state of the art in airline operations. The role includes supporting the Flight Efficiency and Sustainability Portfolio leader, providing expertise from airplane connectivity, integration of analytics for aircraft inflight performance, to mobile application development.

FliteDeck Advisor is a mobile flight optimization application providing pilots with real-time, tail-specific, in-flight advisories to improve flight profile, fuel burn, flight schedule and save airlines money, lowers carbon emissions, and supports sustainability goals. FliteDeck Advisor analyzes data variables affecting overall aircraft flight efficiency relative to the original flight plan and models the results into easy-to-read inflight profile visualizations that graphically depict variances from optimal. Advisories are made so the flight crew can consider taking action, obtain the optimal cost index and make the airline more efficient. RouteSync is a data distribution framework that automatically synchronizes, monitors and records flight route data between an airline's operation center and the aircraft's flight management computer. RouteSync reduces delay costs, improves safety, optimizes flight plans, and improves flight record management.

Position Responsibilities:
Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
Leads analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
Perform system engineering for the Flight Efficiency suite of products, including system requirement documentation, system engineering analysis, and system specification documentation
Maintain and update all system documentation. Ensure updated requirements are incorporated in system engineering documents and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
Decompose system level requirements into functional and performance criteria. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve system performance. Generate and decompose additional system level requirements if gaps are identified in the process of functional decomposition.

KEY SKILLS:

10+ years of experience with commercial airline avionics
5+ years of experience defining system requirements, system architecture, and design
Experience with airplane performance
Experience assessing customer needs, defining roadmaps, overseeing product implementation and defining analytics to measure success
Experience bringing together multiple applications into a cohesive application suite
Experience with airplane avionics and network protocols
Experience with Aircraft integration

One or more of the following:

Experience developing technical roadmap and requirements
Experience with mobile application development
Experience with Storage Unit Processing for Aircraft Interface Device (SUPA)
Experience working directly with airline customers
Experience in Data Science / Analytics
Experience in air to ground communications, including the ACARS protocol
