Hours: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday (flexible)

*****Candidate will be asked to provide examples of soldering/circuit board work.



Role Summary/ Purpose:

The Prototype Fabrication Specialist will support Engineers in the design and fabrication of prototypes and engineering support equipment used in the development of electrical power systems.

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition, as the Prototype Fabrication Specialist, you will:

Build, install, and test electric machine prototypes that include but are not limited to generator stators and rotors
Build, install, and test support equipment that include but are not limited to circuit boards, cable harnesses and hydraulic pumps
Read and apply electrical schematics, mechanical, and assembly drawings to achieve primary tasks
Leverage prior work where appropriate
Communicate status and problems to project leaders and management
Perform assigned tasks on schedule and within budget
Document results
Assist Engineers with the creation of training documentation
Qualifications/ Requirements:

Associate's Degree in a technical field from an accredited school or institution with a minimum of 2 years of experience in electro-mechanical equipment fabrication / troubleshooting / maintenance experience; OR a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of military, or electro-mechanical equipment fabrication / troubleshooting / maintenance experience

Desired Characteristics:

Previous hands-on experience in fabrication, design and development of electro-mechanical power generation equipment
IEC 61192-1,2,3,4,5 Certified
Ability to organize and clarify technical requirements.
Technical writing experience
AutoCAD or other CAD tool experience
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience with MS Office
Light machining and sheet metal experience preferred
Motor winding experience
Hands on, Can do attitude
