Quality Engineer (Aerospace)

Description:
The ideal candidate will manage low to mid complexity projects determining Quality Improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes. They will provide statistical information for establishing quality standards by identifying testing methods and samples.

Major job responsibilities include: •Understanding key aspects of managing a large supply base to achieve best-in-class quality, delivery and customer service
•Building and maintaining key relationships with Suppliers, Quality and Operational teams
•Collecting and compiling data while driving key continuous improvement initiatives at the internal supplier sites
•Leading the Escape Management process to achieve containment and ensure RCCA is implemented
•Supporting cost and lead time reduction on the Landing Gear manufacturing line
•Collaborating with Engineering and Procurement teams to develop and implement supply base improvement plans

Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor's Degree (preferred - not required)
•2+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, and/or Engineering
•US citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:
•ACE/Six Sigma / UPPAP experience a plus
•Read and understand blueprints, industry and customer specifications
•Experience working within the SAP operating system
•Understanding of ASQR-01 / AS9100 / ISO 9000
•Ability to meet commitments, balance and resolve conflicting priorities
•High energy, dynamic individual who strives for continuous improvement
•Highly motivated and a self-starter with a strong desire to succeed and pursue continued growth and developmental opportunities
•Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management and external customers
•Results focused work ethic to resolve issues in a timely manner
