Machinery Maintenance Mechanic

Description:
The Machinery Maintenance Mechanic repairs automotive equipment. Work involves most of the following: Examining automotive equipment the point of diagnosis and repair to include wiring sub-harness installations. Responsibilities include providing technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement of Automotive platforms. Provides expertise for resolving technical customer requirements. Troubleshoots and modifies platforms on automotive equipment to include commercial and tactical vehicles. Work may be done at customer site in support of some efforts. Includes use of automotive software systems and programs designed for customers (corporate and individual) and government entities. Advanced knowledge of automotive systems to include a strong background in harness installation/repair and troubleshooting. Duties also include preparing written specifications for major repairs or for the production of parts ordered from shops, reassembling equipment and making all necessary adjustments for operation. In general, the work of a Machinery Maintenance Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
