Job Description: Space and Security seeks motivated, talented and Experienced Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer to join the Philadelphia Design Center (PDC) in Ridley Park, PA. There are multiple positions available. Our team is focused on designing and supporting a wide range of products across the globe including Vertical Lift Programs, Commercial Aircraft, Defense Fixed Wing Platforms, Satellites, Space Launch Systems, and many others. Position Responsibilities Include:
Develops mechanical systems component detail and assembly designs.
Analyzes results and performs design reviews.
Develops and maintains product detail, assembly and installation designs.
Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of mechanical system parts and assemblies.
Develops basic statements of work.
Participates in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
5+ years of experience in mechanical system design or analysis
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
A final U.S. Secret Clearance
Experience in the aerospace industry
Experience with aircraft and rotorcraft mechanical systems
Experience with aircraft and rotorcraft hydraulic systems, fuel systems, and ECS sub-system and component design and qualification requirements
Experience with hydraulic and fuel sub-systems and components including pumps, valves, actuators, reservoirs, heat exchangers, fuel bladders, fuel gauging and controls
Experience with the development of ECS sub-systems and components including fans, heat exchangers, ducting, sensors and controls
Experience with the integration and installation of hydraulic, fuel, and ECS sub-systems and components in aircraft
Experience working with computer aided design (such as CATIA, Siemens NX)

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Seeking an engineer for one of the following teams:
Hydraulic Systems Design preferred qualifications
Experience with aircraft and rotorcraft hydraulic systems design and qualification requirements
Experience with hydraulic sub-systems and components including pumps, valves, actuators, reservoirs, heat exchangers
Experience with the integration and installation of hydraulic sub-systems and components in aircraft
Environmental Control Systems (ECS) preferred qualifications
Experience with aircraft and rotorcraft ECS sub-system and component design and qualification requirements
Experience with the development of ECS sub-systems and components including fans, heat exchangers, ducting, sensors and controls
Experience with the integration and installation of ECS sub-systems and components in aircraft
Fuel Systems Design preferred qualifications
Experience with aircraft and rotorcraft fuel systems design and qualification requirements
Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design. Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups. Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Contributes to supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals. Supports system components'' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation. Trains others. Works under general direction.
Additional Skills:
Skills: Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
