Company Defense, Space, and Security is seeking experienced Aircraft Assembly Technicians in Mesa, Arizona. These positions assemble, modify, and install aircraft assemblies, subassemblies, components, systems, and airframe structures on aircraft systems. Identify non-conforming parts, conditions, and processes. No relocation offered. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Primary Responsibilities Assemble, disassemble, install, test, troubleshoot, rework, repair, and modify aircraft mechanical or electrical assemblies, subassemblies, components, systems, metallic, and composite structures on aircraft systems by following manufacturing planning, blueprints, schematics, process specifications, engineering sketches, and written and oral instructions. Install, rig, and test major aircraft systems and flight safety parts such as hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel, fire suppression, environmental control, flight controls, and drive components to include engines, rotors, transmissions, and gear boxes using specialized and hand tools and test equipment. Inspect assemblies, components, parts, and airframe structures for non-conformance. Report discrepancies to manufacturing self-examination (MSE), corrective action (C/A), or manufacturing supervision. Ensure all assemblies and detail parts are free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD), non-conformances, and defects. Check units for compliance using hand held precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, and scales. Report all non-conformances to manufacturing supervision, corrective action representative, or inspection. Prepare rejection tags noting deviations from specifications on dimensions, finishes, material, processes, or quality when required. Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to safety officials or manufacturing supervision. Report on job status and any restraints to leads and supervision. Identify production inefficiencies and potential improvements to product or process. Basic (Required) Qualifications
Ability to interpret and follow blueprints, technical documentation, engineering orders, and written and verbal instructions. Familiar with and capable of applying Lean Manufacturing concepts, techniques, and tools; 5S, Kanban; Accelerated Improvement Workshops (AIW); and Value Stream Mapping (VSM). Competent in computer systems for office and shop applications.
