Optical Engineer

Description:
Perform optical design trade studies, optical material and coating selection and design, and develop an optical prescription for an IR Missile seeker
Coordinate with EO/IR System engineer, structural analyst, and thermal analysts on the design of the telescope and optical components for the integrated seeker assembly
Perform design trades and develop the optical design for the seeker window assembly that integrates on to the interceptor.
Support the program through the System Requirements Review and preliminary Design Review phases.
provide analysis to support optical requirements flow-down and tolerance and environmental effects on optical wave-front and MTF performance.
Support stray light analysis.
Review mechanical drawings.
Develop bore-sighting/alignment concepts, alignment procedures, and special test tools as necessary.
Be proficient with standard toolsets for optical design and analysis such as Code V, Zemax, and FRED.
