Description:
Job Duties:

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of FARs, ADs, AMOCs, and related regulatory requirements.
Apply aircraft design concepts and industry standards effectively in the Cabin Solutions' workload environment.
Analyze structural engineering data produced by other engineering groups to ensure compliance with FAA certification requirements.
Check structural engineering data produced by other engineering groups for adherence to FAA certification requirements.
Generate well-documented stress analysis notes that serve as historical substantiation records for repairs or modifications.
Develop finite element models, when necessary, to facilitate the development of design and certification data.
Independently or under supervision, create and implement test procedures to obtain certifiable allowable data.
Maintain a collaborative relationship with Cabin Solutions' Structures DERs and UM's to address structures and interior-related FARs.
Create comprehensive structural engineering substantiation reports for certifying repair and modification data.
Provide technical support to Cabin Solutions' Production team during the manufacturing and installation phases of developed designs.
Support other Engineering groups based on workload requirements.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of department procedures, controls, flows, and systems.

Qualifications:

BS in Engineering or a related scientific field, or equivalent combination of experience and coursework.
Three (3) years of industry experience in the engineering field, preferably focusing on the design of modifications to transport category aircraft.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience utilizing Solidworks or a comparable CAD program with demonstrable proficiency.
Knowledge of FAA regulations, certification processes, and related requirements.
Familiarity with standard aircraft components, materials, fabrication practices, aviation hardware, and their proper application in design.
Understanding of engineering principles used in 3D computer modeling and other analytical substantiation techniques.
Proficiency in using personal computer systems and Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with the use and application of aircraft technical data, such as engineering drawings, SRMs, MMs, SBs, IPCs, WDs, etc.
