DaDT Stress Analysis Engineer

Description:
Seeking a first-rate aerospace Stress Analysis Engineer with experience in vehicle stress analysis, repairs, and production manufacturing as well as strong proven Fatigue and Damage Tolerance experience. The stress analyst will compile analysis, reports, models, and margins of safety into standardized formats for upload into product lifecycle manager.

Additionally, the analyst will support the design engineering staff with drawing release. The stress analyst is ultimately responsible for ensuring the vehicle structural design meets the customer mission requirements with positive margins of safety.

Your Mission

Responsibilities:
• Reviews, updates, and compiles engineering analytical definition of structural components and assemblies based on records from the prototype build project
• Develops standardized analysis criteria and templates
• Plays an integral role in the work flow release process for all structural designs
• Supports review of manufacturing plans and procedures to ensure compliance with design and loads requirements
• Supports the creation of structural test plans which will be used to verify manufacturing

What You Bring
Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with a concentration in a relevant Engineering discipline
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Durability and Damage Tolerance Analysis on both Metallic and Composites components.
• Knowledge of composites manufacturing and sizing of composite structures using FEA models, including pre and post processing of NASTRAN models and associated sizing of composite structures using Femap as a pre and post processor.
• Minimum 7 years of applicable experience in the analysis of structural systems using strength of materials, finite element based methods and DaDT analysis.
• Experience with free-body diagrams and strong understanding of Solids Mechanics and Fracture Mechanics as well as classical stress analysis techniques
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Applicants must be “U.S. persons” as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15)

Preferred Skills and Experience
• Hands-on experience with composites part fabrication and assembly processes and proficiency in Hypersizer a plus
• Pilot, aircraft homebuilding and rapid prototyping experience a strong plus
• Experience with the design of flight vehicles or vehicle systems to a set of requirements or standards such as CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23 and 25, military or NASA are highly desired
• Experience with manufacturing-based ERP systems, such as Oracle, is a plus
