Job Description:
1. This position is deployed to the Revolutionary Technology Programs (RTP) team to provide technical expertise and leadership.
2. Expected to support team’s performance on project related to the analysis, design, and testing of aerospace and plasma physics experiments.
3. Primary responsibilities will involve design and construction of pulsed power electronics, control systems relating to power systems, and data acquisition electronics to support fusion plasma physics experiments.
4. Normal activities will include test procedure writing, performing hardware test & fault isolation and leading troubleshooting operations in a small fast, moving team.
5. Requires use of MS Office software tools to compile data, reduce data, and generate reports.
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills are highly desirable.
7. Occasional overtime and odd hours required.
8. Candidate must be able to work in a manufacturing and laboratory environment, including wearing radiation safety badge.
9. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
10. Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance and be able to obtain special access program clearances.
11. Must be a US Citizen.
12. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Qualifications:
1. Level 4: BS+16 YRS or MS+14 YRS
2. Experience in pulsed power or power systems design and fabrication and data acquisition systems design and implementation.
3. Experience in design and fabrication of high voltage, high current, high energy, and high power systems.
4. Experience with laboratory power equipment such as oscilloscope.
5. Experience leading teams.
6. Experience in utilizing energy storage devices such as batteries, ultra-capacitors, high voltage film capacitors, high current inductors, and electromagnets.
7. Experience in utilizing high power and high voltage semiconductors such as IGBTs, SCRs, and MOSFETs in power conversion.
8. Experience in utilizing high voltage and high power technologies such as spark gap switches, pulse transformers, high voltage relays.
9. Experience in utilizing high voltage and high current diagnostics such as high voltage probes, Rogowski coils, current transformers, Hall Effect transducers, and grounding rods.
