Software Application Tester 1 (Information Technology-General) San Luis Obispo, CA

Description:
Job Title: Software Application Tester 1 (Information Technology-General)
Duration: 12 Months (with possible extension)
Location: San Luis Obispo, CA (Remote)

Position Responsibilities:
Performs simple tests and collects data, following established test procedures.
Assists with identification of anomalies and suggests solutions to more experienced personnel.
Makes suggestions on emerging conditions.
Supports development of simple test procedures, and configuration definitions, needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan.
Supports generation of simple test plans or aspects of more complex plans.
Interfaces with internal contacts, decomposes information from requirements and Statements of Work to formulate basic test approaches.
Reviews standards and regulations to assess the impact on the test plan.
Assists in development of test debrief material for review.
Gathers information to assist in the definition of test requirements, facilities, and test environments.
Reviews test data prior to delivery to customer.
Supports preparation of test configuration, documentation, and staging. Participates in test readiness reviews, safety reviews, test plan reviews and test case reviews.
Configures software for data acquisition and analysis.
Supports preparation of daily execution plans for effective use of all test resources. Provides input to lessons learned and performance metrics to improve future testing.
Archives data and reports as required.

Describe the project they will be working on: GOLDesp – it is a software specifically designed for aftermarket logistics support, maintenance, supply and repair operation
Size of the Team: 10ish for project team size; 40ish for entire test team size
Job Description/Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities: Writing and executing Test Cases; writing and verifying defects; Secondary – if skills exist they may assist with automation scripts

Type of background you are looking for (education, # yrs experience, etc.): Nothing is specifically required – however degrees in STEM are preferred (IT related or Math tend to excel). Previous testing experience or experience with agile methodology is also a plus.
Software skills required:
None required but knowledge of test script automation, JavaScript, use of JIRA are a bonus.
