Job Title: Software Engineer 4
Duration: 12 Months (With possibility of extension)
Location: Berkeley, MO
Shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (This position is for 1st shift)

Job responsibilities:
• Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
• Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system.
• Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
• Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities.
• Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics. Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects.
• Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.
• Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.
• Works under minimal direction. We are currently seeking an individual to develop and support virtual machines. This work includes developing emulations of key embedded systems for use on multiple platforms.
• Specifically, this role will be an individual who will contribute to activities related to the development and integration of test environments, virtual machines, models and simulations in the creation of high-fidelity digital twins.
• The ideal candidate enjoys working collaboratively with others, has a commitment to customer satisfaction and process improvement, and is successful working in a multi-program environment.
• This position will support the development of solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation. The candidate should be adaptable to new development environments and eager to work with and learn new technologies.

Position Responsibilities:
• Be able to work independently or as part as a team.
• Assists with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
• Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.
• Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
• Supports software project management and software supplier management functions.
• Selects, tailors and deploys processes and tools; establishes metrics.
• Performs software research and trade studies.
• Troubleshoots software issues.
• Works under general supervision.

Education / Experience:
• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
• In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Position Comments:
• Fully remote work is an option. Hybrid is preferred with 1-2 days on site per week.
