Production Support & Quality Inspectors-Montreal, Canada- 0402

Description:
Our client in the Montreal, Canada area has several upcoming openings for contract or direct Production Support and Quality Inspectors. The client runs a full-service machine shop with part assembly stations that serves the Aerospace sector and supports Aircraft production line.

Responsibilities for Quality Inspector

Participate in the development of the quality inspection system.
Perform incoming inspection on supplied composite material.
Perform in-process inspection during the layup process for composite material.
Perform final inspection on completed composite parts.
Perform final inspection on the completed Work Order paperwork package.
Perform adhoc part and process inspections.

Required for Quality Inspector

Two+ years of on-the-job aerospace experience in mechanical inspection or a related field.
Must have 2+ years’ experience in composite inspection or fabrication
A high-school diploma or GED or an additional three years of related on-the-job experience is necessary.
Must know basic quality terms, definitions and concepts.
Must know basic statistical terms and techniques, how to plot data and how to recognize out-of-control conditions.
Must know the definition of plan-do-check-act (PDCA) and understand the team concept.
Must understand types of measurement, measurement terminology and the different types of measurement scales.
Must know the difference between accuracy and precision and be able to select the appropriate measuring tools and techniques.
Must know how to measure using surface plate layouts and other hand tools such as calipers, and micrometers.
Must be able to identify/recognize inspection errors and initiate resolution.
Must have basic calibration knowledge.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and know definitions of critical, major and minor characteristics.
Must have a general knowledge of ASME Y14.5M, working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and must understand the x, y, z coordinate system.


Responsibilities for Production/Manufacturing

Check the drawings and plans received from the engineering office;
Write working instructions or data sheets according to the requirements of the engineering (SOI, Work Orders or Job Cards)
Consistently optimize (cost effectiveness, quality, time) the processes for production, assembly, tests, controls and inspections
Define the necessary needs for production activities
Define the time necessary for production to perform different working steps;
Create DQNs and transfer them to the engineering office
Process the DQNs following production remarks;
Modify/update the data instructions in accordance with production remarks


Required for Production/Manufacturing

Degree and experience in mechanical production/manufacturing engineering, industrialization, electro-technical, electronics, metal sheet structures, composite plastics processing or maintenance
Strong experience in production planning, preferably in aviation sector
Overall knowledge in aircraft construction technologies
Familiar with computer programs: MS Office programs, SAP, and Airbus internal tools (CATIAV5, PDM link SS, Tandem, ACPnG, ZAMIZ, etc.) - Full 3D knowledge would appreciated
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in aviation (FOD)
Knowledge of the ISO 14001 environment management standards
Experienced in use of the technical documentation (drawings, work orders, SOI, Maintenance manuals etc.)
Ability to analyze and summarize information
Ability to coordinate activities and inform stakeholders via writing concise and informative reports
Experience in writing concessions and management of DQNs
Ability to write SOI, work orders, or job cards according to drawings and specific requirements (define time frames, steps etc.)
