Sustainment / Test Engineer

Description:
Inconen is looking for a Sustainment / Test Engineer for our client, a well-known Aerospace Company, in Brea, CA.

Job Summary:
1. Manage complex projects in development, coordination and conducting of technical reliability studies and understands and can develop and analyze, reliability test plans.
2. Understands how to analyze reliability field data Recommendation of design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability.
3. Compilation and analysis of performance reports.

Job Description:
1. The position is for a Sustainment - Test Engineer to lead our Engineering Supply Chain Projects.
2. In this role, you will lead the planning and execution of supply chain work transfer projects and assist suppliers in manufacturing systems, parts and assemblies or supplier parts.
3. You will also work on multiple work transfer projects with suppliers to establish the requirements, quality standards and adopt most efficient techniques to support manufacture parts to print that ensure quality.
4. You will conduct the project planning, test planning, test procedure/report development and execution efforts to meet the goals of work transfer projects.
5. You will be an active participant in the Company Supply Chain transformation.
6. This position is based at our clients site in Brea, CA.
7. Lead over all planning and execution of work transfer activities to support projects aimed at cost savings and solving current/future production issues.
8. Support the fabrication of complex machined parts and sub-assemblies by providing technical expertise and support for suppliers.
9. Experience with component testing, FEA, Stress analysis & Material properties.
10. Expertise with component level DFMEA - PFMEA for Aerospace parts.
11. Develop Test plans and procedures to verify and validate the parts meet design specifications and requirements.
12. Conduct Engineering analysis and testing to confirm design meets requirements.
13. Prepare part risk assessments and conduct them with the suppliers.
14. Review manufacturing processes to insure they will yield parts compliant to engineering drawings and specifications.
15. Coordinate with various departments and team members to understand design intent and communicate to the suppliers.
16. Review suppliers manufacturing capabilities.
17. Assist suppliers in clarifying requirements, resolving problems related to the manufacture of parts.
18. Review product design specifications and provide technical guidance to suppliers.

Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering AND 7+ years of Sustainment/ Test Engineering experience.
2. Strong test planning background, analytical skills, able to infer engineering schematics and communicate design intent.
3. Expertise developing test plans, procedure and reports.
4. Must have experience testing prototype, pilot and production parts.
5. Experience developing plans and conducting Qualification by Test, Qualification by simulation OR Qualification by Analysis as required.
6. Experience in a Supply Chain Manufacturing/Sustainment Engineering role leading work transfer projects is a plus.
7. Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal / organizational skills, and be able to demonstrate an ability to understand complex design schematics/procedures
8. Experience in the aerospace industry.
9. Excellent collaborative, interpersonal and presentation skills, ability to influence.
