Develop and execute effective measurement strategies across complex parts and assemblies
Generate advanced-level CMM measurement programs to carry out dimensional analysis
Verify Programs meet the requirements of the drawing and design data
Develop and/or design part fixturing to accurately evaluate parts and/or assemblies
Provide troubleshooting leadership to resolve metrology/manufacturing-related issues.
Finding resolution of inspection, data collection, and documentation issues impacting Quality and Operations efforts
Efficiently perform First Article through Final Inspection
Ability to determine the optimal measuring device for the required task
Communicate issues and exceptions in meeting requirements.
Prepare and distribute inspection reports to engineering teams
Develop, document, and training regarding Best Practice Metrology Standards
High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 8+ years of experience in programming a CMM (Hexagon/PCDMIS preferred), working in a manufacturing or quality-related field OR Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2+ years of experience.
Advanced understanding of GD&T and automated metrology practices. Completion of an advanced level GD&T training course.
Proficient with Polyworks and Control X Software
Retrieve Catia V5 model, drawings & other blueprint specifications
Ability to collect & analyze data utilizing statistical process tools
Ability to read and interpret quality control specifications, blueprint drawings, and engineering specifications including mechanical and electrical symbols and conventions, key, critical, major, and minor characteristics
Understanding of probe/sensor calibration theory
Intermediate to advanced understanding of Measurement Systems Analysis practices and principals
Basic to intermediate understanding of SPC & basic statistical methods
Basic trigonometry & algebra skills
Proficient use of inspection tools or machinery (i.e. surface plate, thread gauges, pin gauges, micrometers, calipers, height master and height gauge, Jo-Blocks, impression molds)
Must be able to identify/recognize inspection errors and nonconformance’s and initiate corrective action
Understand traceability (product, material, and calibration)
Ability to work within a team environment, on-site
