PDS Tech Commercial, Inc. is recruiting for a Senior Packaging Engineer in St. Louis, MO, 63164.
Contract Duration: 1 year with the possibility of extension or direct hire (based on performance and business needs)
Shift: Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm.
Position Summary As a Senior Packaging Engineer, you will plan, conduct, and coordinate packaging process engineering functions. You will cover all aspects of packaging equipment from primary packaging through secondary packaging and process unit operations as applied in the production of wet and dry pet foods, pet treats, and cat litter. You are an expert in all aspects of food processing technology in terms of production systems, quality/sanitation, equipment design, and application.
• Provide packaging engineering process design and review for capital projects including detailed phases of the engineering work, related documentation, and field support. • Coordinate work by outside consultants and suppliers and apply broad knowledge of standards, principles, and practices in packaging specialties. • Support divisional continuous improvement efforts and technical assistance to operating facilities, including investigation and analysis of problem areas and opportunities for packaging and process enhancements. • Apply expert understanding of line balancing, equipment specification, vendor coordination, factory acceptance testing, and site acceptance testing.
Basic Qualifications (Minimum): • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field preferred. • 5+ years of packaging equipment engineering experience in a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment. • 0-30% Travel to equipment suppliers and construction sites for field data gathering, scope development, project reviews, and system FAT.

Pay Details: $79.56 per hour
