Airworthiness Electrical Systems Engineer

Location: Savannah, GA
Pay Rate: DOE
Job Type: 12+ Month Contract
Schedule: First Shift

**Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident**

As an Airworthiness Electrical Systems Engineer, the successful candidate is desired to have:
-Expert level understanding of regulatory compliance under FAA Part 21 Certification procedures, preferably associated with Part 25 Transport Category airplanes.
-Experience with related EASA requirements is a plus.
-Expert level understanding of determination and application of certification Methods of Compliance to the airworthiness standards.
-Experience in understanding FAA requirements conveyed via Issue Papers for Special Conditions, Equivalent Levels of Safety findings, and Unsafe Features or Characteristics, and ability to aid in developing applicant positions in their response.
-Ability to provide mentorship to the organization and coworkers on determination of compliance requirements for moderately complex to complex Major Type Design Change projects and Major-Significant Type Certification programs, for all of the skills discussed above.
-Strong communication and written composition skills essential for authoring technical documents such as Certification Plans, Summary Compliance Reports, applicant positions on rulemaking documents such as Issue Papers and Petitions for Exemptions, etc.
-Experience working with Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) principles.
-Collaborative teamwork skills and ability to develop professional relationships with internal and external project stakeholders.
-Supports project leaders/management in the creation of data packages/reports and provides end user documentation and procedures to support data management tools.
-Utilizing an understanding of technical data, makes recommendations to ensure documentation/reports are prepared in accordance with approved procedures.
-Maintains and coordinates technical data to support internal/external customers and/or document/work packages.
-With general guidance, exercises creativity and initiative to remove system/process roadblocks to ensure completion of activities within established schedules.
-As required, interacts with senior management as the functional data point of contact.
-Works with internal and external customers to identify, research and resolve data integrity issues.
-Assists in the development of manuals and training materials for the function.
-Audits and ensures work is in compliance with organization requirements and procedures.
-Prepares performance reports, graphs, and charts to report status on new issues, processes, and/or initiatives.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements
-Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
-10 years in specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors.
-Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 years for Masters and 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

Position Purpose:
-Guides successful completion of major engineering programs, or conceives research in areas of considerable scope and complexity supporting the development and production of Gulfstream products and services.

-Selects appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues.
-Is consulted extensively by associates and others as a recognized authority within the field.
-Anticipates and resolves complex issues in creative and effective ways, developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
-Approach to problem solving balances technical product, cost and schedule.
-Works without appreciable direction; work is reviewed from a long-range perspective for desired results.
-Exercises latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments, and makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative.

Additional Functions:
-Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
-Advanced degree in engineering, or related curriculum preferred
-The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
