Quality Assurance Engineer - Melbourne, FL/ Fort Worth TX

Description:
Responsible for testing a component, feature and or feature set. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. S/he contributes to quality engineering discussions.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

Own small-sized quality engineering tasks; and delivers as per the commitments, while helping team members
Make technology choices at individual level and has ability to analyze impact
Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like SAFe/Agile, CI, Software and Product Security, Integration, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
Integrate project testing with continuous-integration process
Prepare Reusable functions, which improve the robustness, re-usability, and maintainability of the test scripts
Work with fellow team members to diagnose defects and formulate solutions
Develop and executes maintainable automation tests for acceptance, integration, end-to-end, functional, and regression test cases

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in OR Master’s degree with 3 years of experience

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Wabtec may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.




Desired Characteristics:

Technical Expertise:

Extensive experience in test automation using RestAssured, API Automation or other API automation tools with coding knowledge in Java in a SAFe/Agile environment
Working knowledge of CI/CD to support continuous automation and deployment process with basic knowledge of Linux/Unix scripting is required
Experience with issue-tracking and agile project management tools such as Rally, XWiki, HP ALM etc.
Experience working with virtual machines (VMs) as part of a test/integration infrastructure
Knowledge of cloud technologies in AWS

Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry trends
Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices

Ensures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale. Able to speak to mutual needs and win-win solutions. Uses two-way communication to influence outcomes and ongoing results
Identifies misalignments with goals, objectives, and work direction against the organizational strategy. Makes suggestions to course correct
Continuously measures deliverables of self and team against scheduled commitments. Effectively balances different, competing objectives
