Senior Avionics Software Engineer

JOB TITLE: Senior Avionics Software Engineer

ABOUT THE JOB:
This position is responsible for software life cycle support including development of requirements, design, and documentation of software in support of an Advanced Data Transfer Unit (ADTE). Desired individuals are self-motivated, able to work with little supervision, and who consistently take the initiative to get things done.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a related Software Design Engineering discipline
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Proficiency with embedded software design and development, preferably for Avionics applications
• Ability to code in multiple languages (C and Ada)
• Experience reviewing code and extracting functional requirements from the code.
• Experience developing software requirements for avionics applications
• Proficiency performing functional and software architecture development
• Experience and proficiency using the DOORS requirements management tool.
• Experience with Software architecture and coding, and integration
• Experience with verification and Validation Strategy and Methods
• Experience developing sample functional code proof of concepts in Perl, Python and Simulink

PREFERRED SKILLS:
• 15 years of experience in a related Software Design Engineering discipline
• Ability to work with cross functional teams
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
