Manufacturing/Process Engineer

Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
• Support assigned production cells, processes and product families by addressing technical issues
• Write process documents or work instructions based on current & proposed process flow
• Specify, implement and validate new process equipment
• Perform process improvement activities
• Perform advanced data analysis and problem solving
• Conceptualize and/or design tooling/fixturing
• Perform characterization and test of electromechanical products
• Disposition discrepant material as member of MRB (Materials Review Board) Team and create rework routers/travelers, as needed
• Collaborates with design engineering in coordinating the development and release of new products
• Organizes records and reporting systems for coordinating of manufacturing operations
• Identifies scrap/rejection reduction opportunities, and interacts with the Quality group to facilitate failure mode root cause analysis and determine corrective actions
• Supports the implementation of Lean manufacturing methods to increase production efficiencies and reduce costs
• Interface with customers, as needed
• Perform other job related duties as assigned
Required Skills Job Requirements:
• BS Degree in Engineering discipline (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical preferred) and 2-4 years experience or a graduate degree and 0-2 years of experience
• Experience in Aerospace manufacturing is a strong plus
• Must be able to understand the physics of operation of electromechanical products and associated production processes
• Training, certification and experience in Shainin Problem Solving or Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing is a strong plus
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint
• Working knowledge of Solid Works is a plus
• Knowledge of Aerospace quality systems is a plus
• Background in statistical analysis is a plus
• Experience in Technical writing is a plus
• Basic knowledge of GD&T and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience using calipers, micrometers and CMM is a plus
• Knowledge of machine shop processes is a plus
• Highly organized and diligent in performing sustaining activities
• Ability to work well in a team environment and work collectively with sales and marketing, purchasing, planning, quality, manufacturing and production during sustaining activities.
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Holds self accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Strong communication skills; verbal, written and presentation
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
