Product Inspector

Description:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Researches, identifies and prints the latest drawing (blueprint) of the required product and the customer’s Quality Plan for use in the inspection process
• Pulls the key characterizes of the drawing for each product ordered and Approved Supplier listing to create a Master Inspection Report in the database system to record the inspection
• Inspects a product sample visually and dimensionally and measures the Critical and Major dimensions, utilizing the proper hand tools and gages to verify conformity to the customer purchase order
• Reviews and confirms product documentation is complete and accurate (i.e., Certificate of Conformance, Raw Material Certification, Process Certifications and Test Reports) and that the products are from a customer Approved Supplier, verifying the traceability of the manufactured materials and testing
• Prepares First Article Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102 and customer requirements, as applicable
• Records inspection results and compliance by assigning a “Pass, Fail or Rejection” status in the inspection log system, with additional notes, as applicable
• Transfers compliant products with a “Pass” status, accompanied by the corresponding inspection reports and compliance documentation to the Document Inspection rack, or informs Q.A. Supervisor of non-conforming issues and rejections for verification
• Upon confirmation of non-conforming products, creates an Orange Tag label or Rejection Tag label and transfers the entire order with appropriate label to the corresponding rack for investigation and corrections
• Enters inspection labor time accurately into the inspection log system, relative to each product on the customer purchase order

REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Mechanically certified (ASQ or college preferred)
• 4 to 6 years related industry experience and/or training
• Successful completion of 3 months of Incora inspection training and testing
• Competent and demonstrated hands-on experience with the use of hardware measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, wing gauges, thread plug gauges and ring gauges, optical competitor and Johnson gauge, or other direct-reading engagement tool is preferred
• Ability to perform core job functions of Level I and II inspection roles
• Level III Inspectors must qualify to be certified as a Delegating Source Quality Representative (DSQR) to qualify hardware for commercial and government contract customers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with professional daily interaction with internal and/or external customers (as trained)
• Ability to be detailed oriented and perform basic research, if require
• Ability to be trained in the essential duties of the job, with accuracy
• Ability to learn and gain knowledge of the integrated database systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite
• Final candidate must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, and both criminal and employment background clearance
